Student MasteryConnect: Is It A Game Changer, Or Just Hype? We Uncover The Truth

Masteryconnect, from instructure, featuring masterytracker, is designed to allow teachers to effectively assess core standards, monitor student performance, and report student mastery to parents and administrators. For those who don't know, mastery connect is a program where you input questions but designate a state standard with each question. It is designed to gather data. Every teacher i know does this intuitively. We know what our standards are and we know when our class is falling short, so we add a little instruction here or there.

Personally, i think the negatives are too great to continue requiring students to use masteryconnect as the sole accurate assessment of our knowledge. One that has turned the corner and become a viable business and a classroom game changer is masteryconnect. Students experience mastery connect assessments in their own unique way! Whether utilizing just mastery connect, or the canvas + mastery connect integration, it is important for teachers to understand what students see and experience while taking assessments.
